Stroke Ambulatory Unit

Description

Stroke specific service.

Patients in ED identified by ROSIER and discussed with Stroke team and appropriate. Medically stable inpatients who require follow up investigations may be referred  

Referral Criteria

Patient criteria:

  • Patients aged 18+ in ED identified by ROSIER and discussed with Stroke team and appropriate.
  • In-patients suitable for ambulatory management (e.g. clinically well, awaiting diagnostics) can be referred by the stroke medical team to the Stroke ambulatory team for virtual ward follow-up to expedite their discharge and reduce length of stay.

Exclusions:

  • Seizure
  • Tumour
  • Hypoglycaemia
  • Syncope
  • Cognitive decline
