SSPAU Paediatric Advice Line (PAL) and STH Paediatric Ambulatory Ward (PAW)

Description

Both childrens wards (Blossom Unit - CAH & Daisy Unit - DHH) take age range from 0 up to 16th birthday providing inpatient acute paediatric medical and surgical care and planned paediatric surgical ENT care. Both acute sites provide Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Units (SSPAU) with an associated Paediatric Advice Line (PAL). This service is provided by Medical staff and Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioners (APNP).  

An Ambulatory Paediatric Service is provided in South Tyrone Hospital (STH) 9.00am - 1.00pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays by Medical and Nursing staff.

Services provided by Paediatricians include:

  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Cardiology
  • Child Protection
  • Respiratory
  • Allergy
  • Child Development
  • General Medical Paediatrics and Neonatology
Referral Criteria

Patient must be a Southern Trust resident; and between the age of 0 up to 16th birthday

Blossom Unit (CAH) Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU):

Monday - Sunday:

9:00am - 10:00pm

Daisy Unit (DHH) Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU):

Monday - Friday:

8:00am - 10:00pm (last call taken at 9pm)
