Laboratory Service

Description

The Laboratory provides routine diagnostic and monitoring  tests in Chemistry, Haematology, Microbiology, Cellular Pathology and Andrology

Improved laboratory methods and technological advances have extended the range of diagnostic tests which have improved turnaround times have allowed medical practitioners to improve the quality of patient care.

Underpinning the analytical service is a competent team led by Consultant Pathologists in each laboratory discipline. Advice on all aspects of the laboratory service is readily available. Furthermore the laboratory spends a significant amount of its resources on quality assessment and quality control. All disciplines hold UKAS Accreditation

Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

The service is available 24 hours a day (however routine queries etc. should be made between 09:00 and 17:00

Location
The Trust’s main laboratory is situated at Craigavon Area Hospital and provides a comprehensive Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology and Cellular Pathology service. Additional laboratory facilities are located at Daisy Hill Hospital.
